Just read over it all, you might get a whole lot out of it, it is very very simple.
Barry Bennett-Discipleship Evangelism Unanswered Prayer
John 15:7-8 “if you abide in me and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will and it will be done for you…..” God Wants to answer prayer, answered prayer glorifies God.
John 15:16 “You have no chosen me but I have chosen you…. And your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask the father in my name he may give you.”
Prayer is the channel through which God can accomplish that which God wants to work. We give voice to His will, to His purposes. Rather than the SOS HELP!!! Kind of prayers, we are simply speaking what God already wants. Prayer is joining forces with the father. An act of faith. If we do not pray then what God wants to do will be hindered.
How do answers come in prayer? 2 Corinthians 11:9 “And when I was present with you, and in need, I was a burden to no one for what I lacked the brethren who came from Macedonia supplied…” God often uses other to bring about what is needed. God will use others to answer your prayer! 1 Thessalonians 2:9 “For you remember, brethren, our labor and travail: for laboring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.” Paul answered his own prayer! Many times people do not see their prayers answered because they are not willing to work! God will answer prayer many times through you if you would just get up and do something! It can be through others or it can be through you. James 5:17-18 :Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months…”
Acts 12:11 People had prayed, and God divinely moved in the situation, sent an angel and took Peter our of prison.
Another time Paul and Silus were worshipping in prison and God sent an earthquake. A use of nature.
Spiritual principles.
John 15:7 “IF you abide in me and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will and it shall be done unto you.” You will never walk around wondering why things around happening if you are in God word, you will be in constant communion with God, you will know what is going on. Quit sowing to the flesh for years and years and then going “God Help!” not that God doesn’t want to help, but if you had been in communion with the father the whole time, you would not have been in that situation where you needed that “HELP!”
The knowledge of God, communion with the father, 2 Peter 1:2-4 “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us to glory and virtue Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Acts 27:21-25 “But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, sirs, you should have listened to me…”
God’s plan, 1 Corinthians 4:19 “But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord is will…” Paul was not entirely certain of God’s plan at this point, he was still seeking through prayer to see it, revelation knowledge through relationship.
Where are we praying from? From underneath the problems, as the victim, as an SOS or HELP prayer? Or as a son, from revelation knowledge out of a relationship?
Hebrews 6:12 “That you be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” Faith and patience… be not slothful, stick to it, have a relationship, keep on keeping on, this thing will come together, do not give up on the promises of God.
Any questions, just ask me, and if I don't know, then I can personally ask Barry Bennett.
