THIS IS A GREAT CLASS!!!
Barry Bennett-Ministry of Jesus Lesson 8
What was Jesus’ motivation for ministry?
John 5:19-20 “Then answer Jesus and said to them, truly I say to you, the son can do nothing of Himself, but what he sees the father do and He himself does likewise…”
For God so LOVED the world, God is a God of love, the primary action of love is to give, primary attitude is to forgive. God loved us before-and now that He has given His son, He doesn’t love us less!!! We are now His sons and daughters! No longer enemies of God!
1 John 4:7-8 “Beloved let us love one another for love is of God and everyone that loves is born of God and knows God. He that does not love does not know God for God is love.”
Romans 5:5 “And hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” Love does not make one ashamed. God is love.
Love is our perfect example of what ministry is.
We need to love one another
Luke 4:18-19 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”
Ministry is not being famous. Ministry is the manifestation of the Love of God through you to other people.
Matthew 9:36 Compassion for the lost. “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them because they fainted, and were scatter abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.”
Compassion sees the need and does something! Reaches out. Loves. Gives.
The sign of the end times is that the gospel will be preached to every nation.
Compassion is different from pity or sympathy. Compassion gets involved!
Matthew 14:14 “Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.” Compassion heals the sick! Not just sympathy, pity just prays and hopes something happens, compassion sees people healed.
Don’t put limits on yourself!
Matthew 15:32 “The Jesus called his disciples to him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.”
Compassion feeds the hungry.
Matthew 18:27 “Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt”
Compassion forgives, the love of God forgives, it does not set itself apart and place itself over God! God has forgiven, who are you to not forgive and put yourself over God?
Matthew 20:34 “So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes” and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.”
Compassion restores people, compassion DOES, Compassion MOVES, Loves, Heals, Feeds, Provides, Delivers.
What did I say?
Have a blessed day!

Praise Jesus for all that he has done for us:)
ReplyDeleteYes! He is the perfect and complete blessing! We need nothing more, and can do nothing more for ourselves, it is ALL about Him! (This isn't condoning laziness, but simply taking away our own dead works, trying to be "good enough")
