Hardness of Heart

Some great teaching here! Life changing...

Andrew Wommack-Hardness of Heart Lesson 1

Mark 6:45-52 (Right after the feeding of the 5,000) “And straightway he constrained His disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people. And when He had sent them away, He departed into the mountain to pray. And when evening was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and He alone on the land. And He saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary to them: and about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea, and would have passed by them. But when they saw Him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out: For they all saw Him, and were troubled. And immediately He talked with them, and said to them, be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. And He went up to them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered. For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.”
What does it mean their hearts were hardened? Well think about it, if they had considered that Jesus had just fed over 5,000 people with a few loaves and some fish, don’t you think that walking on water would be no big deal? They were so focused on earthly things that they were hardened to the things of God.
It is not just the words of the one speaking or the way that they say them, but the condition of the individual heart listening. A minister cannot take personal responsibility for each person hearing what they say. It is up to each heart what it will receive or not.
In a sense, a hardened heart makes you spiritually retarded. And the sad thing is that this is a big thing in the church. This is why Jesus said, “He who has ears to hear let him hear, and He who has eyes to see let him see.” because He was not responsible for them hearing and seeing.
There is no problem with your memory, how many of your favorite songs can you sing without a problem? How many of your favorite actors do you know all about? What do you remember oh so easily? You know what I can point out about every one of those things? Those are all things that you are focused on! So why can’t you remember scripture without even trying to memorize it? Because it is not your focus? Why did I do well in Bible quizzing? Because I was focused on it! Why am I a good juggler? Because I focus on it!
Why do you remember things? This is key in all of your life, there is nothing wrong with your brain, nothing wrong with your heart, where is your focus?

Andrew Wommack-Hardness of Heart Lesson 2

Hebrews 3:7 “Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you will hear His boice, Do not harden your heart as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness, Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, And saw My works forty years. Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, And they have not known My ways.’ So I swore in My wrath, They shall not enter My rest.”

Now just as sinning hardens your heart, (it is not God changing His heart toward you) it changes your heart toward God, it puts a layer of insensitivity towards God. And it takes time! Layer after layer. A lack of focus on God will do the same thing, this world is perfectly shaped right now to take your focus off of God, sports, drama, drama, drama, sports, drama, politics, drama, etc…
So now do we all understand this? This is why they call them… Duhsciples.
Focus on God, and hearing Him, seeing all those awesome things that He loves to do, loving what He loves, hating what He hates, it will all become so natural you won’t even know what happened to your old life!
This is so simple that you have to have someone help you to misunderstand it!

Its about time I got back to the blog!!!

Have a great day!
