The Fruits of Righteousness

This may be one of my new favorite classes, Barry Bennett just out-does himself each time!

Barry Bennett-Discipleship Evangelism-the Fruits of righteousness

2 Corinthians 5:21 “He has made Him to be sin for us who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.”
We are to be Righteousness Conscious.
What takes place…
1 Peter 1:22-23 “Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth in the spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, Having been born again not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.”
2 Peter 1:5 “But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self control, to self control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.”
Romans 6:18 “And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.”
Matthew 13:23 “But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
Righteousness is the key to prosperity in Every level of your life, it begins in your spirit, transforms your soul, your mind, and will end up transforming your body and your physical life.
James 3:13 “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”
In the fruit there is more seed, keep sowing the seed.
2 Corinthians 9:8-10 “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. As it is written: ‘He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.’ Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.”
The seed comes from previous harvests, comes from past fruit, grace abounds to you, and there is more seed to sow from what you have been sowing and reaping. Your righteousness should be bearing fruit! INCREASE THE FRUITS of your RIGHTEOUSNESS.
“Being enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.”
Luke 6:27 “But I say to you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you and pray for those who spitefully use you.” etc, these are things of righteousness, going the extra mile, the fruit of righteousness in action. And your reward shall be great and children of the highest.
The Nature of God tends toward prosperity in every area of life, Righteousness has to do with it all. We have been made the righteousness of God in Christ.
The Righteous man is like a tree planted by steams of living water, bearing fruit in season.
1 Timothy 6:6 “But Godliness with contentment is great gain”
Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Context of the passage is, don’t worry about anything! Clothing, eat, drink, all of those things, they don’t come from effort and worry and self promotion!) All good things come from righteousness! Holiness and staying away from sin by focusing on having been made righteous, provides everything we need.
Philippians 1:11 “Being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ…”
Proverbs 11:30 “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life.” How many people are eating from your tree?
Proverbs 10:3 “The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish” you will not be in depression
Proverbs 10:16, 24, 11:8, 23, 13:25, 15:6, 29.
Psalm 112:7-9 His righteousness endures forever, his heart is established.
John 15:4-5 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, bears MUCH fruit; for without me you can do nothing.” 16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the father in my name He may give you”
If we would focus on the righteousness that is in God, be excited about the nature of God that is in us, let the fruit come forth and keep sowing the fruit, keep the attitude of love and blessing in your life, keep integrity, character, and live in that righteous fruitful life, full of the abundance of God, your roots will go down deep like that tree next to the rivers of water.

If you have questions, just ask me, I realize this is in more of a note form that might not be as easy to read and understand as it could be! (This isn't creative writing, this is note taking.)

God bless all you fruits! haha
